Violin Teacher

This is my wonderful teacher Peggy O'Neill. She has been teaching me for two years. She inspires me continually to become a better musician. Peggy O'Neill attended Hartt School of Music and the Mannes Conservatory in Manhattan, where she was a student and first assistant to Lilo Glick. She was principal violist in the New York City Symphony, the Long Island Ballet Company, Opera on the Sound, and the Massepequa Symphony, and was artistic director at the Eastern Suffolk School of Music. Peggy O'Neill has been playing the violin for 50 years and teaching for 40 years. She's had four students graduate from Julliard School of Music as well as other prestigious music schools around the country. She is currently the concert Mistress of the Indian River Pops as well as the founder and director of the Bach's Children Music School in Stuart. The nonprofit school was founded in 2003. She has well-respected teachers at her school who give private lessons in cello, bass, classical guitar, violin, viola and beginning piano. Peggy O'Neill also runs the Bach's Children Music School Orchestra in Stuart for beginning and middle-level students. They have performed at nursing homes, the Jensen Beach Christmas Tree Lighting, Hibiscus House, The Children's Museum, and for two years in a row they have performed the National Anthem at a New York Mets exhibition game in Port St. Lucie. Peggy O'Neill believes that music education significantly increases math and reading scores, improves a child's focus and concentration as well as self worth. Her goal is to reach every child she can and give them the opportunity to experience the joy of making music.
